The Gay Police Association (GPA) is a national police Diversity Staff Association with members in all 56 UK police forces and agencies. Founded in 1990, the GPA represents the needs and interests of gay and bisexual police officers and police staff.


The GPA aims are to:


  1. Bullet Work towards equal opportunities for gay police service employees

  2. Offer advice and support for gay police service employees

  3. Promote better relations between the police service and the gay community



In Scotland, the GPA is also known as the Gay Police Association in Scotland (GPAiS). Representing Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual police officers and staff within Scotland’s 8 territorial police forces and the Scottish Police Services Authority, British Transport Police, Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Ministry of Defence Police.


We are also a member of the European Gay Police Association
