Recruitment Open Day - LGBT Centre, Glasgow

Strathclyde Police Diversity Recruitment Team had an Open Day within the LGBT Centre in Dixon Street in Glasgow on Thursday 2nd December 2004.

Sergeant John Perry and PC Morag Montgomery set up their stall within the main foyer of the Centre which drew a lot of attention from those coming and going throughout the afternoon and the evening.

In a bold initiative which clearly demonstrates the Forces' commitment to the LGBT community, Centre Manager Ruth Black welcomed their presence and gave words of encouragement to both Sgt Perry and PC Montgomery.

The GPA also provided leaflets and posters for the stall. PC Alan Sneddon, GPA Force Co-ordinator for Strathclyde Police, stated "I am thrilled that Strathclyde Police are taking recruiting to the LGBT Community……in order to reflect the community it serves, the Force needs to encourage people from all backgrounds to join. I wish them every success in their venture".
